What We Built
This 7.5m x 4m multi-purpose garden room in Solihull was designed to give the family's teenage children their own dedicated space at home. Built by LouMil Garden Buildings, this Solihull garden room is fully insulated, features an EPDM rubber roof and includes full electrics and heating so it can be used comfortably all year.
The exterior is finished in wood grain cedar composite cladding, creating a modern, low-maintenance look. Inside, there is a small kitchenette with sink for drinks and snacks, plus a separate toilet room with its own basin. A roof skylight adds extra daylight into the main room.

How we approached this project
The site required a macerator system for the toilet as we couldn't achieve a natural fall on the pipework. This was installed to ensure reliable drainage while keeping the building in the client's preferred location.

The difference it made
The teenagers now have their own hangout space, complete with kitchenette and facilities. It's given them independence while keeping them close to home, and the space can easily be repurposed as a home office or guest room in future.
